We Are The Future
"They were handing out free samples of those coloring paper while I was in Korea, and my mom was tired from walking and she had to sit down, so I didn't really have anything else to do, so I drew a little doodle. Thank God it was free. I love free stuff. Anyways the zig-zag on the person's face was supposed to be a remembrance to David Bowie, but I don't think it's the right zig-zag. I didn't know what to write, so I put down Michael Jackson's song, "We Are the World," but then I realized it had nothing to do with the world, so I changed the word to future. Maybe we'll all be really badly drawn replicas of David Bowie in the future. "
"This is when I had long hair, and it means a lot because I cut all my hair off last winter after I was like, "Hey, I want to cut my hair off." (Fun fact: Signourney Weaver shaved her hair as Ellen Ripley in "Alien.") Anyways, my mom sends pictures of my brother and me to my dad, who lives in South Korea, and so I used one of her photos to draw myself. Narcissistic."
"My dad looked stressed, and I don't get to see him that often, so I just drew him with that face. There's not really a significant reason why I did it; he was just there."
"I hate lotion, but lotion bottles are really pretty. So, I sketched a lotion bottle that my mom was using."
My Foot, Hand, and Face
"I took an old picture of my face and drew it. Then I looked at my hand, but it got complicated, so I took a picture of my hand like that and drew it. And you can probably guess that I did the same thing for my foot."
A Different Thanksgiving
"I don't really know why I named it "A Different Thanksgiving." I think I just did it because a pumpkin usually means Halloween or Thanksgiving, but then I saw the bottles, and it leaned towards Thanksgiving."
